Press Release

For Immediate Release.

In a sensational twist to the West Durrington Development saga, sources
close to the owners of the Durrington caravan park in Titnore Way have
revealed, that when the council held lease expires, it will not be renewed.
The same source also remarked, that the tennis club next door to the caravan
park also leases its land from the council.

Following these revelations John Clark from Protect Our Woodland! said:
"At last the councils master plan has been exposed. First we have a planning
application for a luxury sports complex to be built on land only 300 yds
from the tennis club, then the surprise of how easy it was for the
application to be approved. Even though the Titnore Way tennis club
submitted the powerful objection that two similar clubs couldn't survive in
the area, and now this.

Clearly if the tennis club were to close, these two sites would be a natural
extension to the land already earmarked for development and would possibly add
another 200 houses to the 850 in the first phase of the development".

John Clark added: "Things are looking grim for Durrington. Even with the
existing application for 850 houses in the first phase together with the
proposed Tesco Hypermarket, Durrington and the surrounding area will be
overwhelmed with traffic etc. Now just imagine what its going to be like
with the extra 200 houses off Titnore Way and then maybe up to another 300
in phase two near the A27".

"No this is madness. We urge everyone to write now and object in the strongest
manner possible. Sorry but you must write again but previous objections don't
count as it's a new application.

Send your letters to:
