Urgent Public Meeting.

Titnore Lane and the Ancient Woodland will be featured in a forthcoming ‘Tonight with Trevor McDonald’ programme dedicated to the outcry over greenfield housing development.

At 2pm Sunday, 4 September 2005 a film crew from the programme will be at ‘Northbrook Park’ (see below) to film the Public Meeting we had already arranged – Note the revised date.

That being the case, it is now even more important that everyone comes to that meeting with colourful banners etc and supports the campaign to save the woodland and the wider issue of the South Downs National Park.

Please tell everyone you know, put up posters, forward this e-mail, phone Splash FM 01903 233005, or BBC Southern Counties Radio 0845 9570057 and generally do anything to spread the word.

To add to the event we are likely to have knowledgeable speakers to address the meeting - and Trevor McDonald may even turn up. Bring a picnic and enjoy yourself.

Many thanks for your continued support and for giving future generations something to thank us for.

Hope to see you there.

Directions.

If coming by Train get off at Goring-By-Sea. The meeting place is a 10 minute walk north up Goring Street and over the Littlehampton Road.

By Bus. Ask for Northbrook College Durrington (Check with Bus operator for times / frequency)

By car, if unavoidable.

From London and the north.

Use the A24 but DON'T go all the way down to Worthing. 5 miles before Worthing look out for Findon and a sign saying A280 Littlehampton. Keep on the right up a slight hill and take the 3rd exit at the roundabout.

This narrow road takes you over the Downs and eventually to the flyover over the A27. Go straight over the first roundabout and follow directions for West Worthing / Goring at the second. You're now in Titnore Lane, follow it down through the woods for .5 mile. As the woods clear take 1st left into Titnore Way (top of the map).

From Brighton.

Use the A27 to Worthing. Look for sign to Littlehampton and take it. Straight on over a crossroads with traffic lights and 1 mile on you'll see a roundabout go straight on. At the next roundabout take third exit (bottom R/H corner on the map) turn into Yeoman Road (There's a Toyota Garage there)

From Chichester and those coming on the A27 from the west.

Best to turn off at the A280 flyover and follow directions for West Worthing / Goring. You're now in Titnore Lane, follow it down through the woods for .5 mile. As the woods clear take 1st left into Titnore Way (top of the map).

From Littlehampton on the A259, best to carry on to the Yeoman Road roundabout.

For all those arriving by car it's best to park in Romany road and use that entrance.
