The Final Act – or was it!
With
the developer’s application to build within the ancient woodland refused, on
Saturday April 9 and Sunday April 10, 2011 and with the help of the woodland protectors,
many of them highly skilled Climbers from many parts of Europe the remains of
Camp Titnore West Durrington were taken down.
On
the Saturday night there was an evening of acoustic music in the woods - now
saved from the axe - a fitting time for friends old and new to celebrate the
power people have when they stand firm against injustice.
Regular
inspections have taken place to ensure the actual Titnore woodland has fully
recovered from the 6 years of human occupation and we are pleased to report it
has. However something we have been concerned about is what the developers have
been doing to the trees and ancient hedgerows on the farmland.
